Kuyirkey Tag

Sharad , writer of twisty short stories, tagged me to write about 6 Quirky things I have done, and I start off the quirky things by spelling the word Quirky as Kuyirkey. So here goes six:

1. Do you know the biscuit Milk Bikis? As a Kid, I used to eat them artfully. I chew off the outer boundary first and then slowly nibble the center portion to get only the word “Britannia”. I then chew off one letter at a time and giggle.

2. As a kid I used to be the transporter of stones in the street. I walk from my home to grandma’s in the next street and I take a stone along with me by kicking it all the way. I felt like I was supposed to help the stone to go from my home to my Grandma’s.

3. I was once asked to perform something impromptu at school. While every one tried their hand at dancing, singing and story telling, me being a fan of Bruce lee I did the Enter the dragon stunt bit. I got up on the desk did some ooh aah with a fierce angry face and jumped off the desk with a wild angry shout and kick like Bruce lee. Detailed Description is here.

4. I once had a crush on a senior girl who was compering a function that day. I was listening to her talk in the auditorium and she was gorgeous in her saree. I don’t know what went through my head but I took a rose with me and went to talk to her after she came off stage. She refused to even talk to me looking at the rose I was holding and her body guard (a female friend who is big and ugly) shooed me away. I might have been punched that day.

5. In a college function, I once made a paper arrow, got up boldly and shot it right at a hot senior girl looking at her in the eyes. She shot it back at me and I saw her laughing when I turned back.

6. The way I am going to tag others for this “Quirky Tag”.

I tag 6 Women in my blogroll, Muhaahahaahaa (Evil Laugh!). If you have already done this tag you can skip it. If you are not interested you can skip it. Here are the victims – Usha, Apar, Aparna GonibeedNita, Rads, Shivya

LOL@Milk bikis eating style! :) It’s like how kids eat Oreo cookies here! Methodical.

I think I’ve done a few tags in a similar vein, but sure I’ll do it this week. Heaven knows I need the material ;-)

  3. October 18, 2008 at 10:42 am | #3

I was wondering whether this tag would get to me. Quirks I have, like everyone else. And hey I had a peculiar way of eating biscuits too!

I was wondering when I would have to end up doing this one when…and had an inkling that I was in ur list before I read it :)
Hey ditto on #1, I used to eat Milk bikis the very same way…
And like rads says…I eat oreos also in a “methodical” or would it come under “quirky” way!

Oh I too had a quirky way of eating cream biscuits
Me too, I used to lick the cream first and then attack the biscuits, I mean eat them.

    LOL Dinesh Lee!!
    He he … :)

    Rads
It’s like how kids eat Oreo cookies here! Methodical.
Very close I guess, But still eating a rectangular Milk Bikis is much more elegant.

sure I’ll do it this week. Heaven knows I need the material
Thank you, will look forward to your Quirkiness.

It is proof that Blogosphere is a Sphere that’s why its called Blogo”Sphere” :)

Quirks I have, like everyone else.
    Humans aren’t we :)

And hey I had a peculiar way of eating biscuits too!
I see a lot of them seem to have the habit, it doesn’t seem as quirky as I thought. Quite Natural I guess.

    Apar
I was wondering when I would have to end up doing this one
Muhahaaha … You can run but you can’t hide.

had an inkling that I was in ur list before I read it
inkling = linking. You must have got the inkling from the linking I did.

Hey ditto on #1, I used to eat Milk bikis the very same way…
Wait, when you got to the word Britannia, did u start from B or A. This is very important for this quirkiness.

I eat oreos also in a “methodical” or would it come under “quirky” way!
Right, but make sure you don’t put this as one of your quirkiness, I already used it. Muhaahahahaa!

I dip my biscuits in the tea and eat them.
I love to eat it that way too. But a lot of times I dip it too much it gets cut and falls into the Tea.

I too had a crush in school.
Me too, I used to love that drink called Crush.

I was in 2nd and proposed my classmate.
    Let’s see how that went:
    Amit: Hey wanna go out?
Hot Girl kid: Sure, where to?
    Amit: Candy store?
Hot Girl Kid: oohh! That’s Hot dude!

  12. October 20, 2008 at 12:18 am | #12

Oh No! Seriously I did that. Its a long story, but to cut it short, I said I LOVE YOU to her in the morning prayers. After that she complained to our class teacher. She beat me up and asked to call dad the next day. Dad came and she told what I did. Dad went home and asked me. I told him that the girl proposed me and when I refused, she swore to take revenge.
    Dad believed me. :P
    Phew!!!!

  14. October 20, 2008 at 9:32 am | #14

    Sakhi
i love to eat the outer biscuits from bourbon and then the cream protion
Wait, that is physically impossible. How would you do that?

    even today!!
You mean you just had a bourbon like that?

    Thanks!

    Amit
Oh No! Seriously I did that.
I can understand, I was just kidding.

I said I LOVE YOU to her in the morning prayers
Oh Twinkle Twinkle little heart, You are my little sweet heart!

After that she complained to our class teacher.
Miss, Miss, Amit say I love you to me miss, Shame Shame!

She beat me up and asked to call dad the next day.
Papa kehthe hai bada naam karega, beta hamara eisa kaam karega.

I told him that the girl proposed me and when I refused, she swore to take revenge.
Magar ye to koi na jaane, ke meri manzil hai kahan!

  15. October 20, 2008 at 10:36 am | #15

oh senior girls n sarees! totally teachers day was my fav! all 12th class students doubled up as teachers that day….

  16. October 20, 2008 at 12:18 pm | #16

Hey Dinesh… thanks for doing it man…

I have done the ejjat same thing with all biscuits, britania, parle-g etc…
For some reasons I did that only to Britannia and cream biscuits. I spared the rest.

but then i dont get this paper rocket thing
It is very easy to make it, I am sure you will get it ;) Or if you shoot one at a senior girl, you will definitely get it back.

seen it in a few tam films as well.
It must have started from there actually.

oh senior girls n sarees! totally teachers day was my fav! all 12th class students doubled up as teachers that day….
Very interesting. Were you ever confused if a student was a teacher, I know you already confused a teacher to be a student ;)

    Sharad
Hey Dinesh… thanks for doing it man…
    You are welcome :)

well hmmm rose to a senior girl… paper rocket at senior girl.. u had it got older women huh
You got me, For some reason I had something towards a senor girl. May be I should have put that as a quirkiness.

cream biscuits I eat the biscuit first and then the cream..
Now, Can someone please explain how the biscuit is had first and then the cream. You will need to peel off the cream and keep it in your hand like how a barber shaves and places the shaving cream and then eat it (the cream from the biscuit, not the shaving cream). Is this how it is done?

  18. October 21, 2008 at 7:55 am | #18

You have lot of guts man( Having two incidents with senior girls).

No problem, Settle down and take your time.

Who says eating milk bikis is quirky? what nonsense, i say
Eating milk bikis the way I do is quirky don’t you think. But it seems like a lot of us do it, so it may not be so quirky anyway :)

I don’t like the crackers here. I get the Marie or Milk Bikis or Bourbon from the Indian store and snack on it :)

Dinesh, I will be doing this tage only after the Diwali vacation. I was planning to do it today but something very urgent came up and in fact could not even do my normal post. Tomorrow is going to be impossible because of some diwali preparations which need to be done. But I like this tag and will definitely do it after my blog re-opens after around 10 days.
    Thanks for tagging me.
